Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has terminated all appointments for any form of revenue enforcement in the state.
He also suspended payments into banks from all unauthorised channels.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Ukoh, said the move was part of measures to sanitise activities around the transport sector and markets in the state.
Ukoh said the directive takes immediate effect and requested the affected persons to return all government property in their possession to the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Internally Generated Revenue and Digital Transformation, without delay. He said the Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue would advice further on the government’s plan in this regard.
