Otti tells Christians, others to be involved in politics, as group endorses him for 2nd term

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti has called on Christians, other faith-based institutions in Nigeria and well meaning individuals in the country to pick interest and get involved in politics.

This is even as a group, Alex Otti 4+4 Movement 2027 is canvassing support for the re-election of the Governor come 2027.

Speaking at an event, Otti insisted that politics must not be ignored if getting the leadership question in Nigeria right truly matters to them, adding that lack of interest in politics and political participation by those who see politics as dirty has contributed to leadership challenges in the country.

“A journey through history, has shown the unequal resilience of the Church as a force in societal transformation,”

“Jesus started his ministry by proclaiming the kingdom of God as good news to the poor, challenged religious and political elites, and reversed social hierarchies and inequality.”

Gov. Otti noted that while many people view politics as dirty, it remains a powerful tool for shaping leadership outcomes and influencing the direction of society.

Otti call on the Church to adopt a more productive approach to welfarism by going beyond the distribution of handouts to developing initiatives that create jobs, enabling members to work hard and earn a decent living.

Meanwhile, a group, Alex Otti 4+4 Movement 2027 is canvassing support for the re-election of Governor Alex Otti for a second term in 2027.

Speaking in Umuahia, Chairman of the Movement, Chibueze Daniel Okah said the sole aim of the body was to mobilize the people of the state for what he described as grassroots and institutional support for the re-election of Otti in 2027.

Okah, noted that the Movement was committed to ensuring continuity of good governance, economic transformation and sustainable development across Abia State.

“The Movement seeks to consolidate the progress under the current administration by mobilizing citizens and stakeholders in support of policies and initiatives that drive infrastructural development, educational reforms, healthcare improvement and efficient public service delivery.

“By seeking the re-election of Governor Otti, the Movement is driving for continuity to enable the present administration to consolidate on what it has started and do more for the people.

The Movement called on all citizens, stakeholders and supporters to participate in the effort to re-elect Otti for a more brighter prosperous Abia state.
