The Lagos State Police Command said five persons have been rescued alive with no death recorded in a ghastly multi-vehicle crash at the Otedola Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday.
The command disclosed this in an update shared on X at 4:26pm.
“Five (5) individuals have so far been successfully rescued, no fatality has been recorded as of this time, while the evacuation of the vehicles involved is ongoing,” the command said.
In an earlier incident report, the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) disclosed that the accident involved three trucks and a car which collided just before the bridge inward Berger.

The incident was said to have resulted in a traffic backlog which extended to the Toll Gate.
The agency said its personnel promptly mobilised to the scene to commence necessary interventions, including rescue and evacuation operations, while personnel of the Nigerian Police Force and other relevant first responders were also on ground to support and facilitate the operation.
In another update at 5:52pm, the Lagos police command said free flow of traffic had been restored on the road.
“The command urges motorists to exercise caution while using the route and cooperate with security agencies as normal traffic flow resumes,” the update reads.
