An eighteen-year-old whizkid from Eemaan Foundation College, Osogbo, Osun State, Olamilekan Ajisafe, has emerged the overall best in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), beating over 1.8 million candidates who sat the examination in the country.
In the May/June 2024 WASSCE, Ajisafe obtained eight A1s in Civic Education, English Language, General Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and one additional subject.
Ajisafe is studying Medicine and Surgery at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, Osun State.
In the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), he scored 287.

The whizkid and two others will be presented with the National Distinction/Merit award at the 63rd Annual Meeting of the Nigeria National Committee (NNC) of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in Umuahia, Abia State.
The second prize went to Joan Onovo, a former student of Louisville Girls High School, Ijebu-Itele, Ogun State, with eight A1s. She has been offered admission to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Lagos.
The third best in the 2024 WASSCE is Chibuikem Mbah, who obtained eight A1s. He is studying Medicine and Surgery at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti.
