Two persons abducted in Ora-Igbomina, Osun State, Sunday Oyekanmi Adeyeye (Tayese) and Sunday Busayo Adewumi, have been released after the payment of millions of naira, a mobile phone and a motorbike.
The Asiwaju of Ora-Igbomina, Ambassador Yemi Farounbi, confirmed their release, though the exact ransom paid was not disclosed.
In a statement personally signed by Ambassador Farounbi and made available to journalists in Osogbo on Tuesday, he expressed profound gratitude to God for the safe return of the victims after four weeks in captivity.
He described the development as a great relief to the families and the entire Ora-Igbomina community, which endured a period of anxiety, intense prayer and collective concern.

“Though several millions of naira were paid as ransom, including a motorbike and mobile phones, we thank God that they are alive and have returned to us safely,” the Asiwaju said, while commending the resilience of the victims.
Farounbi also thanked security agencies and unnamed individuals who worked behind the scenes to secure the men’s release. He appealed to residents to remain vigilant and to sustain cooperation with security authorities to improve safety across the community.
The Asiwaju called on the governments of Osun, Kwara and Ekiti states to form a strategic security alliance to bolster internal security, and urged the Federal Government to urgently deploy additional soldiers and police personnel to boundary areas with Kwara and Ekiti — routes he said are frequently exploited by criminal elements.
He urged continued unity, faith and collective responsibility in protecting lives and property, stressing that the security of Ora-Igbomina is a shared duty.
