Security operatives on Thursday embarked on a show of force in Osogbo, Osun State, ahead of the Saturday general elections.
The security consists of Nigeria Army, DSS, police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
They moved in convoys around Abere/Ogo-Oluwa/Olaiya/Old-garage/Oke-fia areas.
The security who are heavily armed displayed a show of strength in an apparent move to send signals to those who may be planning to cause violence.
The general mood of the state was calm as politicians embarked on last-minute campaigns to meet up with the deadline.
Findings showed that market women and business activities were going on smoothly.
The police spokesperson in the state, Yemisi Opalola, said the security is on a show of force to alert residents that they are fully prepared for the election.
She explained that the show was also to send signals to criminals to avoid any plan that may land them in jail before, during, and after the election.
