Human rights lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has said the attacks directed at Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muniru Oyebamiji, were expected from an opposition candidate.
Adeyanju made the observation during an ARISE News discussion on the Osun governorship election, where he assessed the performances of the major candidates at the ARISE Town Hall.
He said Adeleke impressed him with his response to the criticisms, noting that the governor still attempted to present an account of his administration’s achievements despite the attacks from the APC candidate.
“The APC candidate came to attack the governor, which is expected of the opposition,” Adeyanju said.
He added that Adeleke’s approach stood out to him during the town hall.
“The governor impressed me the most because, despite the attacks from the APC governorship candidate, the governor tried to give a brief account of what he has achieved,” he said.
The comments came as political parties intensified their campaigns and public engagements ahead of the Osun governorship elections.
