Commissioner of Police, Osun State, Mohammed Umar Abba, has tasked officers and men to go after hoodlums threatening passengers on IIesa/Akure Expressway: “The command recently arrested 17 suspected criminals in different scenes of crime.
“Items recovered from them included AK-47rifles. We have deployed some Police Tactical Team operatives to flashpoints especially this Eid-el-Fitr period to protect life and property
“I have warned my officers to shun corruption. They should no get involved in illegal duties. They should respect the Police Act and fundamental human rights of the citizens.
“Operatives arrested suspected armed robbers along IIesa/Ife Expressway. They have been terrorising residents and confessed to the crime.
“The Tactical Team arrested suspected fraudsters and armed robbers in Odemu and Ikire. Operatives raided hideouts of the hoodlums where they kept weapons for their operation.
“Police operatives foiled kidnap attempt within Osogbo and rounded up five suspects. The command strengthened community partnership with relevant community policing stakeholders and used strategic communication to reach out to the public.
“My officers remain committed to their mandate of protecting life and property.”
