In a surprising turn of events, the name of Governor Ademola Adeleke appeared on the ballot papers during the governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun, even after he resigned from the party earlier the day.
Adeleke was listed as the first candidate on the ballot, while Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola was positioned as the second contestant.
This development drew attention given Adeleke’s resignation, which he attributed to ongoing internal crises within the party.
During the accreditation process, the electoral committee announced that 957 delegates had been accredited out of a total of 990.

However, there was confusion regarding the validity of votes cast for Adeleke. The electoral committee informed the delegates that although the ballots featured Adeleke’s name, any votes cast for him would be deemed invalid due to his departure from the party.
As the primary election unfolds, the implications of Adeleke’s resignation and the potential consequences for the voting process remain focal points of interest.
