Former members of the Osun State House of Assembly and the National Assembly, elected under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have united to support Bola Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate for the upcoming elections and to advocate for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
The decision was made during a meeting on Sunday in Osogbo, where over sixty former legislators came together to establish a formal structure and steering committee to coordinate their efforts ahead of the elections.
Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the APC, described the gathering as a strong display of unity within the party. He noted that the former legislators, who previously supported various aspirants, had united under a common goal.
“This meeting is to formally create a structure and steering committee to strategise for the victory of our party in the August 8, 2026, election for our candidate Bola Oyebamiji, and also to support our party’s success in the 2027 presidential election,” Ajibola stated.
