The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that the Local Government election conducted on Saturday is illegal, unconstitutional and a waste of public funds.
In a statement issued on Sunday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka said Governor Ademola Adeleke risked inciting violence by allowing the poll despite calls for it not to occur.
Adeleke’s party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) clinched all councillorship and chairmanship seats in the state.
According to Morka, the election took place in defiance of court rulings.

“In blatant disregard for the rule of law and a valid judgment of the Court of Appeal, Gov. Adeleke conducted the election on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025,” Morka stated.
Speaking further, Morka wondered why Adeleke who swore to uphold the constitution defied a valid court order.
He referred to the election as a “sham” while stressing that the Osun government must respect the law and the rights of the Osun people.
