From Lateef Dada, Osogbo
Amidst ongoing claims from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding control of local government in Osun State, five heads of local government administrations (HLAs) have been redeployed in a significant shakeup of the council administration.
A circular signed by the permanent secretary of the Local Government Service Commission, M. O. Oyedeji, dated January 26, instructed several HLAs to transition from their current local governments to new assignments.

The redeployments include: Bolaji Wasiu Ayoola moving from Ife South West LCDA to Olaoluwa LG; Emmanuel Oluwole Ademokoya; transferring from Oriade South LCDA to Atakumosa East LG; Adebisi Lateef Kayode, moving from Ede East LCDA to Oriade LG; Yakubu Adekunle Oni, transitioning from Irewole North East LCDA to Boripe LG and Isaac Tope Akinwumi being moved from Egbedore South LCDA to Ife East Central LCDA.
The circular stated that the affected officers are to resume their new duties immediately.
Concerns have arisen within the opposition camps regarding the rationale behind these redeployments. Some have questioned the validity of the local government service commission established by the state government, especially given recent Supreme Court judgments that may impact its legitimacy.
