After pledging to work for the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke, a member of the Osun State House of Assembly representing Iwo State Constituency, Hon. Adesina Rabiu, has met with former governor Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.

A member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon. Wole Oke, who claimed to have led the legislator to Oyetola, confirmed that he has moved to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a photograph shared on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Oke wrote: “My distinguished Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, Hon. Bade Falade and our minting member from Iwo State Constituency and my humble self met with our leader to present our new member, Hon. Adesina Ara Rabiu.”

Hon. Rabiu had earlier addressed a resignation letter to the Speaker, Adewale Egbedun, informing the House of his intention to quit the Accord Party.

In the letter, he wrote: “I hereby tender my resignation from the Accord Party, effective immediately. This decision is personal, and I’d like to keep the reasons to myself.”

Shortly after the resignation letter circulated on social media, Rabiu appeared in a video with the Speaker, Hon. Wale Egbedun, and the spokesperson to Governor Adeleke, Olawale Rasheed, where he announced the withdrawal of the purported resignation.

He said, “I wrote a letter that I’m no longer a member of Accord. I am now saying that I have withdrawn the letter of resignation that I earlier wrote, and I want to state that I am still a member of the Accord Party and in full support of Governor Ademola Adeleke. I will do whatever is within my capacity and money to work for his re-election.”

The APC currently has two members in the House, compared to the Accord Party’s 24.
