The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has fixed December 13, 2025 for its governorship primary election in Osun State.
The chairman of the party in the state, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.
Dr Odeyemi who stated that the party is prepared for hitch free primary election, opined that the party would take over the rein of government from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) come next year.
He said “NNPP is a new bride in the state as it is harvesting from the present hullabaloo in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and sharp division within the All Progressives Congress due to the allegation of possible planned imposition of a candidate.”

Odeyemi said four aspirants including a former gubernatorial candidate in the state have shown interest in the party’s ticket.
He said “As we speak, we have not less than four aspirants and many people are still informing us of their interest in joining us. 2026 gubernatorial election will definitely be a different ball game in Osun as we are set to spring surprises.
“We are working underneath and feelers made us realize that Osun masses are fully ready to support whoever emerges as our candidate after the December 13, 2025 primary election.
“I want to urge our party members not to relent in their efforts at propagating what we have in stock in ameliorating thei sufferings and taking Osun state to the greater height among the comity of states,” he added.
