The leading governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (popularly known as K-RAD), has dismissed as false and mischievous a report circulating on social media claiming he is set to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement issued by his media team on Tuesday, K-RAD described the report credited to one Michael Adedayo as “baseless, malicious, and a product of political desperation.”

The statement, signed by Tolulope Babawale on behalf of the K-RAD Media Team, said the publication was “evil, unfounded, and condemnable in its entirety,” urging supporters and members of the public to disregard it.

“K-RAD remains a committed, loyal, and proud member of the APC, a party he has laboured tirelessly to build and strengthen both in Osun State and across Nigeria. No amount of falsehood or political blackmail will sway him from his long-held progressive ideals,” the statement read in part.

The campaign organisation maintained that Adegoke remains the aspirant to beat in the forthcoming 2026 Osun governorship election, describing the defection claim as the handiwork of “political jobbers who thrive on lies to seek relevance.”

The team further warned the author of the story and others spreading similar misinformation to desist from actions capable of misleading the public or tarnishing Adegoke’s image.

“Integrity and consistency are the hallmarks of leadership values which K-RAD personifies,” the statement added.

Reaffirming his commitment to the APC, Adegoke’s team emphasised that he has no intention of leaving the party “now or at any time in the future,” stressing that his political journey has always been anchored on principle, service, and dedication to the people.

The statement concluded by reiterating that K-RAD “stands firm with the APC, its leadership, and its ideals.”
