The Osun State Football Association has congratulated the Board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) following the successful adoption and implementation of new, inclusive statutes aimed at strengthening football governance in the country.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Osun FA praised the leadership of NFF President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, describing the development as a significant milestone that reflects a progressive and forward-thinking administrative approach.

According to the association, the newly adopted statutes provide a solid legal and administrative framework that will enhance institutional stability, promote sustainable development, and drive the long-term growth of Nigerian football in line with global standards.

Chairman of the Osun FA, Sola Fanawopo, described the reform as a critical step in repositioning the game across all levels.

“The new statutes represent a critical evolution for our game. This framework ensures that football governance in Nigeria is not only transparent but also expansive enough to capture the interests of all stakeholders, from the grassroots to the professional elite,” Fanawopo said.

The association also expressed appreciation to global and continental football governing bodies, FIFA and Confederation of African Football, for their technical support and guidance throughout the consultative process, noting that their involvement ensures alignment with international best practices.

As Nigerian football begins a new phase under the revised statutes, the Osun FA called on state associations, clubs, and other stakeholders to fully embrace and implement the provisions.

The body added that strict adherence to the new regulations, alongside unity and collective commitment, would position Nigerian football on a path to sustained progress and greater achievements.
