Senator Francis Fadahunsi has attracted fresh scrutiny over comments he made while interacting with supporters at his polling unit during Saturday’s Osun governorship election.
A video from the polling unit shows the senator telling his supporters to “monitor their ballot” before adding, “Whoever does not vote appropriately…” and continuing with further instructions.
The remarks prompted a reaction from the Imole Campaign Council, which accused Fadahunsi of seeking to influence voters during the election.
The council’s spokesman, Pelumi Olajengbesi, said the comments were “scandalous, unacceptable and undemocratic” and urged security agencies to intervene.
The latest incident comes shortly after Fadahunsi was questioned by police over another controversial statement made during a campaign gathering in Ilesa.

The senator had been accused of telling supporters to “kill” members of the Accord Party. The comment generated widespread backlash and led to his invitation by the Osun State Police Command.
Fadahunsi later explained that he was speaking figuratively and meant that his supporters should defeat the Accord Party at the polls rather than physically attack its members.
Amnesty International Nigeria had also called for accountability over the earlier remarks and urged authorities to investigate allegations of political incitement.
The new comments have once again placed Fadahunsi under public scrutiny as voting continues across Osun State.
The interpretation of his latest remarks and the campaign council’s allegations have not been independently verified.
