The Accord Party has secured a decisive victory over the All Progressives Congress at the polling unit of former Osun State Deputy Governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, in the ongoing governorship election.
Results displayed on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Result Viewing Portal showed Accord winning 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1, Moore, St Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area.
The APC finished second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress secured 10 votes. Other political parties recorded marginal votes.
The result represents another early victory for Accord as the collation of results continues across Osun State.
Earlier, Accord also won at the polling unit of former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola in Okuku, Odo-Otin Local Government Area.
Accord polled 125 votes at the unit, while the APC secured 85 votes and the ADC recorded five votes.
The results from the two prominent politicians’ polling units add an early dimension to the emerging results from Saturday’s governorship election.
INEC was still uploading results to the IReV portal as of the time of filing the report, while the formal collation of results continued across the state.
