The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the internal wrangling that led to the vote of no confidence on the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Kola Adewusi, and the ex-national secretary of the party, Prof. Wale Oladipo, had been settled.

Leaders of PDP in Ife federal constituency had passed a vote of no confidence on Adewusi, Oladipo and the chairman of PDP in Ife, for holding a secret meeting with Taofik Ajilesoro, a member of House of Representative who had left the PDP.

Speaking at a stakeholders meeting held yesterday in Ile-Ife, the senatorial leader for the Osun East, Akindele Famuyide, explained that Governor Ademola Adeleke had stepped in and internal mechanisms of the party had been deployed to resolve the issue.

Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Adewusi described the issue as “a storm in a teacup,”saying that it had been settled.

The PDP chairman in the state, Sunday Bisi, told journalists that the vote of no confidence had been withdrawn and the dispute resolved.

He said: “It is not possible for us to live without having this kind of thing once in a while but we thank God that PDP has an internal mechanism through which we resolve all issues and disputes.”
