A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, has sentenced a 30-year-old man, Mutiu Omosolape, to one year imprisonment for assaulting Muideen Komolafe and inflicting injuries on his face.

The police prosecutor, Adepoju Kayode, told the court that he committed the crime on October 19, 2026, at approximately 8:50 p.m. around the Oloode Mosque area in Ila Orangun.

The prosecution noted that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 516, 252, and 3555 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.

Upon arraignment, Omosolape pleaded guilty to the charges. He begged the court for leniency and promised not to repeat the criminal behavior.

Omosolape was found guilty on a three-count charge bordering on felony, assault, and causing physical harm.

Magistrate Ibukun Adeniran thereby convicted him and sentenced him to one year imprisonment with hard labour on each of the three counts.
