Fear and apprehension have pervaded residents of Araromi Owu in Ayedade Local Government Area Of Osun State as communal violence led to the death of two with some houses razed.

The palace of the community has been set ablaze as of the time of filing this report.

The community which is located in a remote area with dilapidated roads is mostly populated by farmers.

It was gathered that the community had been engulfed in a duel over chieftaincy matter in  the past three days.

It was further gathered that a king designate had been in seclusion in preparation for his installation before another person started laying claims to the stool.

A Journalist,who was caught amid the crisis hinted that the mob had burnt the palace.

Osun state Police  Public Relations Officer (PPRO),Yemisi Opalola, said mobile policemen have been deployed to the community.

Special Adviser to the state Governor,Ademola Adeleke on Security Matters, Mr.Samuel Ojo, confirmed that the crisis was  serious.

He said,”we have been on it for the past three days. We have deployed security operatives to the community. I can only confirm two casualties.”
