Osun Chief Judge dissolves 12-year-old marriage over threat to life

Dissolution of marriage

From Lateef Dada, Osogbo

The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Oyebola Adepele-Ojo, has dissolved the 12-year-old marriage of Mr Ayodele Adeleke and Ayodele Adebukola over an alleged threat to life.

The marriage, which was consummated on 29 December 2012, ceased on 25 February 2018, when the respondent reportedly moved out of her matrimonial home to her parents’ house.

The petitioner alleged that the respondent frequently engaged in serious quarrels with him over minor arguments, which often resulted in threats to his life.

He petitioned the court to dissolve the marriage to enable him to have peace of mind.

The respondent did not oppose the petitioner’s prayer.

The court thereby dissolved the marriage and pronounced that custody of the child of the marriage, Master Ayodele Emmanuel, is granted to the petitioner.
