Senator Iyiola Omisore, a former national secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and current governorship aspirant in Osun State, has expressed strong confidence in his prospects for the upcoming primary scheduled for Saturday, December 13.

Speaking to journalists during consultations with stakeholders in Osogbo and Olorunda Local Governments on Wednesday, Omisore anticipated receiving 80 per cent support in the primary elections.

He noted the positive reception he has received across the state, stating, “The enthusiasm among Osun indigenes and APC stakeholders is palpable. The crowds I am seeing are organic; people are excited and happy to engage with me.”

He said, “By God’s grace, the party will defeat any opponents, whether it’s one or two parties. We will win decisively.” He described his candidacy as a “call to service”, emphasising his extensive experience, which includes serving as Deputy Governor of Osun State, being a senator, and holding the national secretary position of the APC.

“My motivation for contesting in 2026 is to serve and redeem this state from poor governance,” he said. “I want to bring real opportunities and improvements for the people of Osun State.”

Confident about his campaign, Omisore acknowledged the support of like-minded stakeholders who encouraged him to run. He expressed optimism for a successful outcome in the primary, aiming to fulfil the needs and expectations of his constituents.
