The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (K Rad), SAN, has called on all eligible residents of Osun State to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing the process as a critical step towards strengthening democracy and ensuring effective representation.
Adegoke made the appeal in a statement issued on Wednesday by his campaign group.
He urged party supporters, community stakeholders, traditional rulers, religious leaders and all eligible residents to recognise that the PVC remains the most powerful instrument through which citizens can influence the direction of governance and determine the quality of leadership at all levels.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria also urged youths, women, artisans, traders, professionals and other eligible citizens who have attained the voting age of 18, as well as those yet to register or in need of updating their voter information, to visit designated registration centres and complete the process without delay.
According to him, active participation in the electoral process is essential for sustaining democratic values and promoting accountable governance.
“The Permanent Voter Card is more than just an identification document; it is a symbol of the people’s power and their constitutional right to choose leaders who will serve their interests. Every eligible citizen must seize this opportunity to register and prepare to participate in future elections,” he said.
Adegoke noted that the future of Osun State and Nigeria depends largely on the willingness of citizens to engage in democratic processes, adding that voter apathy remains one of the major challenges confronting the nation’s democracy.

He emphasised that broad participation in elections would help ensure that the voices of the people are reflected in government policies and development initiatives.
The APC senatorial candidate further encouraged residents to conduct themselves peacefully throughout the registration exercise and to remain committed to the ideals of democracy, unity and progress.
Adegoke expressed confidence in the capacity of the electorate to make informed decisions that would advance the development of the Osun Central Senatorial District and the state as a whole.
He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its efforts in facilitating voter registration and urged the electoral body to continue ensuring a seamless and accessible process for all eligible voters.
The APC chieftain reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive representation, people oriented legislation and sustainable development, assuring residents that their interests would remain paramount in his political engagements.
He therefore appealed to community leaders, religious organisations, civil society groups and political stakeholders to intensify awareness campaigns on voter registration, saying that a vibrant democracy thrives when citizens actively participate in determining their collective future.
“Every vote counts, and every PVC matters. I urge all eligible residents of Osun State to register, collect their PVCs and be prepared to play their role in shaping the future of our state and nation,” Adegoke stated.
