Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has presented a total appropriation bill of N705.794 billion for the year 2026 to the State House of Assembly, titled the “Budget of Economic Transformation.”
In the budget breakdown, recurrent expenditure is set at N317,414,353,350, which constitutes 45% of the total budget, while capital expenditure amounts to N388,379,695,320, making up 55% of the budget.
During the presentation to the legislature on Wednesday, Adeleke detailed the recurrent expenditure, which is further divided into personnel costs of N135,005,722,430 and an overhead cost of N182,408,630,920, which includes salaries, allowances, pensions, and gratuities.

The governor emphasised that the 2026 budget serves as a blueprint for sustainable growth and a testament to his administration’s commitment to enhancing the lives of citizens in the state. He noted that total revenue comprises recurrent revenue, including N221,680,000,000 from the government’s share of FAAC, N199,573,229,320 from independent revenue, and N268,348,518,860 from other receipts.
In his welcome address, Speaker Hon. Adewale Egbedun praised Adeleke for his integrity, public service dedication, and citizen-centred governance. He acknowledged the successful implementation of previous budgets, particularly those for 2024 and 2025, which have led to measurable improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, social inclusion, and workers’ welfare.
Egbedun commended the governor for demonstrating exceptional leadership and diplomacy during the local government administration disputes, which required careful navigation to maintain stability in the state.
