Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has mobilised the contractor to the abandoned Osogbo-Ikirun/Kwara State boundary road, initiated by the Rauf Aregbesola-led government.
A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Friday, said the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Works and Transport, Olusola Ajao, said this in his office.
Ajao noted that the uncompleted road project was causing hardship to residents, especially motorists who ply the road daily.
Ajao said the government of Adeleke ordered the remobilisation of the contractor back to the site to commence the work to ease the suffering of motorists.
He said the governor had specifically ordered the contractor to ensure speedy progress of the project and see that it got to an advanced stage within the next two months.
“I use the medium to urge road users and residents to cooperate with the contractors while the job is being carried out,” he added.
He said Governor Adeleke was going to visit the project site to inspect the progress of work by next week.
