The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged to permanently resolve the long-standing boundary dispute between Osun and Oyo states if elected in the August 15 gubernatorial election.
Speaking on Thursday during a campaign stop in Iwo, Oyebamiji assured residents that the border friction would be addressed definitively.
He also promised adequate compensation for property owners affected by recent road construction demolitions.
“I want to appreciate the Kabiyesi and the good people of Iwo. The massive crowd here today is a clear testament that the APC will emerge victorious come August 15, 2026.
“The community boundary problem is a prominent concern here, particularly between Osun and Oyo states. My firm promise to the people of Iwo is that I will handle, sort out, and end this issue permanently.

“Furthermore, regarding the ongoing road construction, owners of assets and properties that were demolished will be compensated fairly and equitably,” Oyebamiji added.
In his remarks, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, noted that he had offered prayers for the candidate, expressing faith that divine intervention would guide his aspirations.
“The APC candidate is here today to share his vision with my people, and he has committed to delivering better governance.
“My people have listened to him, and I have invoked the divine authority granted to me to bless him. Everything now rests in the hands of Almighty God, and I believe He will answer our prayers,” the monarch said.
