Bola Oyebamiji, the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Osun State election, has confidently stated that he has no competitors and expects to win the gubernatorial poll scheduled for 8 August 2026.
Speaking during an annual prayer programme hosted by the Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria in Ikire, Oyebamiji emphasised the significance of prayer and unity in achieving success. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the yearly event, highlighting its symbolic nature given the proximity of the election.
“I want to appreciate the Almighty God for allowing us to offer this prayer. This year is particularly symbolic as we approach the gubernatorial election in Osun State.
“I have said this several times: Bola Oyebamiji doesn’t have a competitor. I am going to win that governorship election come 2026. We strongly believe that by the special grace of God, this will be achieved,” Oyebamiji added.

His wife, Sekinah Bola-Oyebamiji, added that Osun State needs a leader who can govern with conscience and sensitivity. She noted a remarkable increase in attendance at this year’s prayer gathering, with over 6,000 residents participating, compared to about 3,000 the previous year.
“He is a people’s person and genuinely cares for the community. What we need in Osun is a leader who can govern with conscience; AMBO is the best option,” she said. She also expressed the desire to extend such community support across the state, ensuring the welfare of women and children.
The Chief Imam of Ansar-ud-deen, Badmus Adekunle, praised Oyebamiji’s candidacy, emphasising his leadership qualities, loyalty to the APC, and the goodwill he enjoys across the state. He saw the endorsement of Oyebamiji as a testament to his capability and dedication to public service.
