Youths in Osun State on Saturday engaged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, during a vibrant town hall meeting ahead of the upcoming election.
Speaking at the interactive session tagged: “Osun Youths Interactive Session with Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO),” Oyebamiji promised to prioritise sports development if elected governor, noting that sports infrastructure is capital-intensive and requires strategic collaboration.
“One of the things I love most is sports, and sports development is going to be my priority. If you have travelled widely, you will discover that sports development is capital intensive if you actually want to get results.
“We can synergize, sit down together, discuss solutions, and even create a single regional club in the Southwest through joint investments. We will decide on a name and contribute toward building a massive investment in sports development,” Oyebamiji said.
Reflecting on his personal background, the APC candidate shared that 90% of his career achievements were attained when he was a youth, reinforcing his strong commitment to the younger demographic.
Commending the youths for remaining resilient despite what he described as current neglect in the state, Oyebamiji assured them that he understands their challenges and holds the solutions.
“Under my leadership, Osun will experience a new era; we will work for you and make you happy,” he promised.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Support for young entrepreneurs and startups, alongside the establishment of skill acquisition hubs across the state.
He listed strategic zoning and backing for ICT, software development, renewable energy, agribusiness, vocational training and digital opportunities.
He also promised implementation of structured internship, apprenticeship and job placement programmes in partnership with the private sector.
Oyebamiji promised the establishment of youth-focused enterprise grants to fund innovative business ideas and startups.
He spoke on expanding opportunities in sports, entertainment and the creative industry, alongside introducing temporary public works employment programmes in traffic management and sanitation.
Oyebamiji urged the youth to prioritise competence and progress at the ballot box.
“Dear youth, I urge you to vote for competence, vote for progress, vote for a sound tomorrow, and I promise you that I will work for you and I will stand by your mandate,” he said.
