Osun: 1 killed in suspected cult attack

One person has been reportedly killed during an attack launched by suspected cultists at Orita Elelede, Osogbo, Osun state, Sunday.

The victim, Kazeem Oyebamiji (Mosquito), was said to have been attacked on a motorcycle by suspected cultists who were said to be followers of Oyeyemi Olalekan (aka Emir).

He was stripped naked and killed by big stone, matched on his head.

It was gathered that the second person on the bike with the victim escaped.

Findings showed that the assailants took away the motorcycle of the victim.

Olalekan is a member of the transport disciplinary committee on 9th January, 2023 by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

He was arraigned and standing trial before the Federal High Court, Osogbo, on charges ranges from public disturbance, murder and unlawful possession of gun.

The police spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the death of one person.

He said monitoring team are on the trail of some identified suspects.

“I can confirm that one person was killed. We have deployed our men. We have identified some persons and our monitoring team have gone for them,” Ojelabi said.
