The management of Ossiomo Power Company, located in Ologbo, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, has raised concerns over damage to and removal of some of its electricity equipment, estimated by the company to be worth several million naira.
In a statement issued in Benin City, the company said an incident occurred at its facility on Wednesday afternoon involving a group of youths from the Ologbo community.
According to the company, some equipment associated with its 33kV electricity lines, including high-tension wires, cables and conductors, was damaged or removed during the incident.
The company further stated that its security personnel confronted some individuals at the facility in connection with the incident.
The company also stated that there had previously been court proceedings concerning access to its premises involving some of the individuals and organisations referenced in its statement.

The company also appealed for the protection of its 33kV infrastructure to enable it to complete necessary repairs and work towards restoring electricity supply to affected customers in Edo State.
The company said it remains committed to resolving the issues surrounding the facility peacefully and in accordance with the law.
