The Alabe royal family, the next family to nominate a candidate for the vacant stool of Osolo of Isolo in Lagos State has selected Prince Saheed Aregbeshola to occupy the exalted position.

The Alabe family is one of the four families, including the Alagbeji ruling house, whose turn it is to produce the next Osolo, being the only branch that has not occupied the throne. Aregbeshola’s name will be forwarded to the Alagbeji royal family, which will in turn formally present him as the candidate of the family.

Speaking at a family meeting, the acting head of the Alabe royal family, Rasak Alabe, said the decision to nominate and affirm Aregbeshola as the next Osolo was a popular choice.

According to him, this was evident in the large turn-out of family members, including prominent leaders of the Alabe family.

He said the choice of Aregbeshola was hinged on the fact that the in-coming Osolo would not let the people of the kingdom down.

Alabe said the candidate had continuously demonstrated capacity for leadership in every undertaking he has been saddled with.

“Even at the family level, we can tell you authoritatively that he has been the backbone of this family, maybe without him the Alabe branch of Alagbeji ruling house would have been removed from the family register, but he has always been there for us.

“I want to enjoin all members of the family to continue to maintain the peace because we are peace-loving people. God has done everything for us to produce the next Osolo.

“We, therefore, want to encourage us to embrace peace,” he said.

Prince Aregbeshola applauded the family for his nomination and affirmation for the Osolo stool.

He said the gesture was a great honour which he would further reciprocate when he is formally installed.

“InshaAllah, I will continue to do my best for the growth and development of Isolo Kingdom. My intention is to escalate the level of development in this area to further bring peace and prosperity to the people. I, therefore, seek the support of all and sundry because this is a task that needs all hands to be on deck,” he said.
