With 29 days to the start of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, newly crowned African Player of the Year Victor Osimhen is already talking tough, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigerian International was crowned the best player in the continent on Monday and he was on target for his club Napoli in the Champions League the following day to demonstrate his readiness for the competition.
The energetic forward further said he hoped things go according to plans for them.
“We are ready and preparing very well,” Osimhen told CAF. “The squad is in high spirits. We are raring to go and hope that we shall do well there,” he said.
This will be Osimhen’s second appearance in AFCON having attended the 2019 edition in Egypt.
