Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen was in his best form, scoring a brace for Galatasaray and dedicating his goal to Mauro Icardi, who recently suffered an ACL injury.
The Nigerian showed Mauro Icardi’s shirt to celebrate his goal against Samsunspor and, in particular, to support the Argentinian striker, who’s out for the rest of the Süper Lig season with a knee injury.
From the stands, Icardi was touched by the gesture, blowing kisses and showing his gratitude while Galatasaray fans cheered him on in a moment that will stay in their hearts.
The goal came just three minutes into the game, putting Galatasaray ahead of their closest competitor in the Süper Lig.
That marked Osimhen’s fifth goal of the season in just six games, along with two assists.
The former Napoli striker then another one in the 53rd minute to put his team ahead.
Michy Batshuayi then sealed the win for the Istanbul giants, as they won 3-2.

Osimhen’s brace against Samsunspor at the RAMS Park thus set two Turkish Super Lig records in the process.
He thus became the first player to score or assist in each of his first six games in the Turkish Super Lig since 2014-2015 when Opta started collecting data in this area.
He provided an assist against Rizespor and Fenerbahce, before getting on the scoresheet in four consecutive games against Kasımpaşa, Antalyaspor, Beşiktaş and Samsunspor.
Another opportunity came his way in the 26th minute when a cross floated into the area, unmarked, he rose to meet the cross but surprisingly couldn’t find the target.
Four minutes after the start of the second half, Davinson Sánchez committed a foul inside the box, and the away side levelled the scoring through Olivier Ntcham’s penalty kick.
Osimhen restored the lead for the defending Turkish champions, rising at the far post to meet a cross, and he made no mistake to find the back of the net.
British sports analytics company, Opta confirmed that Osimhen registered seven headers, the most by a player in the Super Lig since Opta had detailed data in this area in 2014-2015.
