Victor Osimhen has expressed his delight after helping Galatasaray secure the Turkish Super Lig title with a 3-0 win over Kayserispor on Sunday, contributing to what he described as a ‘historic’ achievement for the club.

 

 

The Nigerian striker, who scored the opening goal in the crucial match, played a key role in Galatasaray’s dominant season, which has already seen the team win both the league title and the Turkish Cup within five days.

The 26-year-old now has 25 league goals this season and recently broke the record for the most goals scored by a foreign player in a single Turkish campaign.

Speaking to the broadcaster after the match, Osimhen shared his emotions following the victory: “I feel very happy. It is incredible to take part in Galatasaray’s history and reach the fifth star. We have two matches left.

“We will look to have fun. I am enjoying the moment at the moment. I am not thinking about my future.”

Galatasaray’s triumph on Sunday took them to an uncatchable 89 points, securing their 25th Super Lig title.

The win also marked a significant milestone for the club, symbolized by the addition of a fifth star to their badge—each star representing five championships.
