Injured Victor Osimhen is expected to be back in action for Napoli on October 4, 2022, in Amsterdam in the Champions League against Ajax, according to Tuttosport.
The Nigeria international striker is currently out with a serious injury sustained on September 7 during their 4-1 thrashing of Liverpool at Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in the Champions League.
The former Lille player will soon be available for selection, with the possibility of playing a few minutes against Amsterdam and certainly play from the first minute of subsequent Serie A trip to Cremonese on October 9.
Without the 23-year-old, Napoli’s attack has had a harder time shooting, even though Giacomo Raspadori and Giovanni Simeone have scored two goals each in the last three matches. The former hit the target against Liverpool four minutes after entering the pitch, while the latter, a former Sassuolo player, gave the match against Spezia and Rangers.
Osimhen was replaced by Simeone 41 minutes into the match against Liverpool as the Azzurri ripped the Premier League giants apart in front of their raucous fans.
Osimhen has featured in five Serie A matches in 2022–2023 and played 425 minutes.
