•Disappointed over tournament Round of 16 draw
Victor Osimhen has now scored more UEFA Champions League goals than boyhood hero Didier Drogba after his heroics against Juventus earned him a place in the official Team of the Week for the competition.
Osimhen’s strike that broke the deadlock against Juventus in extra time in Turin meant he has now scored 16 goals after 25 UCL matches, one more than Drogba.
However, Guinea and Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy remains the most prolific African player in the UCL thus far as he has netted 18.
Meanwhile, Osimhen was named by UEFA in the official Team of the Week for the UCL in recognition of his role in qualifying Galatasaray to the Round of 16 of the competition.
He was picked as Man of the Match versus Juventus as the Turkish champions went through 7-5 on aggregate after losing the return leg in Italy 3-2.
In a similar vein, the player did not get his wish to avoid Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 after the Premier League champions were again drawn against Galatasaray in the competition.

Last September, Osimhen was the match winner for Galatasaray with a 16th minute penalty goal in the group phase of the Champions League.
However, he was frank to admit before yesterday’s draw that he would want Galatasaray to “escape” Liverpool in the Round of 16 because the Premier League club will be gunning for revenge against his team.
He also said Galatasaray would have to improve on their showing against Juventus in Turin if they were to stand up to Liverpool both at home and at Anfield.
Galatasaray will welcome Liverpool to Istanbul on March 10 or 11, while the return leg will be in England a week later.
The overall winners of this tie will face the winners of the match-up between PSG and Chelsea in the quarterfinal.
