Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has escaped the wrath of Italian Serie A defending champions Napoli, as he would not be fined by the club following his burst up with coach Rudi Garcia during the team’s 0-0 draw away at Bologna on Sunday.
Pictures from the game, showed the Nigerian showing his frustrations, as he seemed quite angry with the Frenchman on the touchlines after being substituted late in the game.
Osimhen missed a penalty for Napoli against Bologna and was motioning for him to have two strikers on the pitch instead of one when the Partenopei needed a goal.
Garcia later stated that what he told the striker will stay inside the dressing room but Il Mattino (via TMW) have reported about the situation further.
Osimhen was said to have apologised to Garcia following the spat and his teammates at the changing rooms of the Dall’Ara immediately after the full-time whistle according to reports from Calciomercato.com.
Training on Monday also provided an opportunity for Osimhen and Garcia to evaluate the scenes on Sunday, though it is reported that there were no further arguments of complications to the situation.
Italy’s OA Sports informed that the club will not fine the Nigerian after he apologized to the coach and his mates immediately after the game.
Meanwhile, Osimhen who scored three goals in five matches this season, is yet to add to his tally but could do so on Wednesday. Napoli, who started their preparation for the visit of Udinese, will hope to avoid going four consecutive matches in Serie A without a win.
