Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen is making significant progress in his recovery from the ankle injury he sustained during Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Rwanda, as he’s preparing for Thursday’s Champions League match.

Osimhen, who was diagnosed last week with a strain and bleeding in his ankle ligaments, completed his individual training programme on Tuesday under the supervision of a trainer.

While he did not participate in the team’s training sessions, he may still play in the Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt, potentially with the help of an injection if he doesn’t have enough training time.

According to Takvim, Galatasaray Head Coach Okan Buruk met with the medical team regarding Osimhen’s condition and was quoted as saying, “There are still seven Champions League matches left. If Osimhen isn’t fully recovered, please let me know. Even if there’s a 10% risk, I won’t play him.”

The club’s coaching staff is closely monitoring the player’s physical condition until the last minute.

Osimhen is expected to participate in yesterday’s final training session in Istanbul and will be part of the travelling squad to Frankfurt.
