Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel looks set to chop a minimum of 10-match ban for his involvement in an altercation with a fan during Fenerbahce’s game against Trabzonspor.

The home supporters had encroached onto the pitch after a dramatic finish to the game, Osayi-Samuel took matters into his hands when he defended himself from an unmasked fan that tried to attack him while carrying a knife.

The Nigerian was captured on a viral video almost completing a highlight-reel move, which would not have looked out of place in a kickboxing or MMA bout.

Former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi gave Fenerbahce the lead in the 87th minute of the contest as the team ultimately saw out a 3-2 victory against Trabzonspor. That goal puts Fenerbahce within two points of league-leader, Galatasaray.

According to Turkey Leo Sports, the Nigerian could be banned for 10 matches for his conduct during the altercation with a Trabzonspor fan, who was reported to have been taken to intensive care.

Osayi-Samuel would to be referred to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Disciplinary Committee, as Article 44 of the Turkish football discipline rules, states that the defender could be banned from football for three (3) months or a year.

Meanwhile, the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) is said to be closely monitoring the situation and punishment to be given to the Nigerian as it frowned at such an act.

However, the Yellow Canaries management is set to hand the Nigerian a new four-year contract for his bravery after he defended his teammate from a pitch invader on Sunday.
