Osayi-Samuel escapes Turkish FA ban

SUPER Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel has been found not guilty of assaulting a Trabzonspor fan (pitch invader) after Fenerbahce’s 3-2 win away from home.

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) reported on Monday that the Nigerian was one of three Yellow Canaries players who would face the TFF disciplinary hearing in response to the pitch invasion that occurred during a Turkish Super Lig game between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce on March 17.

The verdict from the disciplinary hearing on Wednesday revealed that Trabzonspor was given a sixgame ban and a 112,000 TL fine for events on the field and not following guidelines.

Trabzonspor trainer, Egemen Korkmaz and Fener- bahce player Irfan Can Egribat were given a one-game ban and a 13,000 TL fine for fighting.

Fenerbahce player Bright Osayi-Samuel was cleared of any wrongdoing, while Jayden Oosterwelde was given a one-game ban and a 52,000 TL fine for fighting and actions towards the stands.

Fenerbahce administrators, Kursat Ciftkik and Okan Ozkan were given 15 days of deprivation of rights for fighting.
