Osafile emerges NDC candidate for Lagos Assembly election

The incumbent member representing Amuwo-Odofin Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Stella Foluke Osafile, has emerged victorious in the just-concluded party primary election of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), securing a landslide win over other contestants.

Stakeholders said the outcome of the primary at the weekend reflects the confidence reposed in Osafile by delegates and residents in the constituency, following her performance and contributions to the development of Amuwo-Odofin.

Reacting to the result, after the NDC primary election for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Amuwo Odofin Constituency I, held at 206 Park, Festac Town, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos, supporters said it was the result of the overwhelming confidence and trust reposed in her by party delegates and stakeholders.

Speaking after the declaration of the results, Hon. Osafile expressed gratitude to party leaders, delegates, supporters and all those who stood firmly by her throughout the primary process.

“This victory belongs to every supporter, every volunteer, every stakeholder, and every member of our great party who believed in our vision. I am deeply grateful for your trust and confidence. I will not take this mandate for granted,” she said.

She further called for unity among party members and supporters, emphasizing that the primary election was over and that the collective focus should now be on building a stronger party and delivering victory in the forthcoming general election.

Osafile’s victory has been widely celebrated across Amuwo Odofin Constituency I, with supporters describing it as a triumph of dedication, competence, experience, and people-centred leadership.

“To every party member, stakeholder, supporter and resident of Amuwo Odofin Constituency I, thank you for your unwavering support, love, and confidence in me throughout the just concluded primaries.

“Your encouragement, sacrifices and belief in our shared vision made this victory possible. I am sincerely grateful and deeply humbled by the overwhelming show of solidarity.

“I do not take your support for granted and I remain committed to serving our constituency with dedication, humility and purposeful leadership. Together, we will continue to move Amuwo Odofin forward,” she said.

Supporters and party faithful described the victory as a testament to her impactful representation and commitment to grassroots development over the years.

Osafile defeated two other aspirants in the keenly contested exercise: Faith Ugbeshe and Azubuike Emmanuel Umeadi.

Political observers noted that the victory has positioned the lawmaker for another opportunity to continue her legislative and developmental agenda for the people of Amuwo-Odofin Constituency I.

The lawmaker popularly referred to as “Mama Amuwo,” expressed optimism that her renewed mandate will translate into greater achievements and transformational leadership for the constituency.
