Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, has handed over his fate to God as his casts his vote at his LGEA Primary School Polling Unit, Ako Gbajimba in Guma Local Government area of the state.

The governor who loudly said, “by the grace of God” as he dropped his ballot paper into the ballot box, expressed optimism that he would be victorious in the race.

“From the report I have got so far, there is no cause for alarm. Victory belongs to God and I trust that I will be victorious at the end of the day.”

Speaking to newsmen immediately after casting his vote, the governor who arrived at the polling in company with his wife, Eunice, at about 9:30am said that security was still inadequate despite the heavy deployment of security to the state.

He disclosed that only on Friday, a father and son were killed close to Gbajimba allegedly by some All Progressives Congress (APC) militia even as he confirmed the burning of INEC materials on Mballon, Gwer East Local Government Area of the state.

While noting that he had already reported the matter to security agencies, Ortom expressed assurance that the perpetrators of the dastardly acts would be brought to book.
