Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has alleged that thugs of the opposition Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) wreaked havoc on his community in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State and destroyed campaign materials of President Bola Tinubu.
He said the thugs also invaded and looted shops in the area.
The minister made the allegation in a post on his X handle on Sunday night.
According to the Minister, the incident occurred on Friday, September 18, 2026.
He also shared a video appearing to show thugs donning Obi-Kwankwaso movement paraphernalia moving along a road and destroying property along the way.
A narrator in the video identified as Aproko King also claimed NDC thugs escorted by security personnel went on rampage and destroyed campaign materials in the community.
“I want the world to see what the NDC’s thugs came to my community in Effurun, Uvwie LGA of Delta State, to do on Friday, 18th September, 2026,” Keyamo captioned the video.
The senior lawyer added, “They wrecked havoc on billboards pasted everywhere by Tompolo’s door-to-door Campaign Organisation, entered people’s shops with dangerous weapons and looted the shops.”
Keyamo accused a section of the press and human rights groups of bias and double standards for keeping mute over the incident.

“If it had been the other way round against the APC, the section of the bias PRESS and so-called human rights groups would have been screaming to high heavens, but since this happened, EVERYWHERE IS MUTE,” he said.
He argued that the incident was worse than the blockade of Peter Obi’s entourage from entering Benue State, which he had earlier condemned.
“This is the EXACT point I made when I openly condemned the blockade of Peter Obi’s entourage from entering Benue State. But what happened in Benue is nothing compared to this. The double standards everywhere is sickening,” Keyamo stated.
The minister said the video evidence of the attack is clear and overwhelming, alleging that the thugs were accompanied by law enforcement agents.
“The thugs were even accompanied by law-enforcement agents in their payroll. As the foremost political leader in that community, I will not let this slide. I have warned everyone not to resort to self-help,” he said.
Keyamo disclosed that he would submit a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, this week for a thorough investigation.
“I will be submitting a petition to the Inspector-General of Police this week to thoroughly investigate this incident and bring all those found wanting to book (even against APC leaders, if anyone crossed the line).
“Disciplinary action should also be taken against those law-enforcement agents in their midst that condoned the looting and destruction of properties.
“Some of us are now ready for the long haul!” he added.
