The National Vice Chairman, South East Zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC), DR Ijeomah Arodiogbu has said that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is on course and that all he needs is less distraction from the opposition to focus on the urgent task of repositioning the country. In this interview, he spoke on various issues.

What’s your take on President Tinubu’s Administration so far, and his RenewedHope mantra?

His Excellency’s administration is quite on point, having hit the ground running. Our dear country will definitely be better for it. I’ve no doubt about the abilities of His Excellency to turn things around.

Is there the possibility of saving the nation from an imminent collapse, considering the state of affairs in Nigeria under the APC?

Absolutely! The possibility is clearly there. Nigerians made the best choice in Tinubu. All he needs is less distraction from the opposition for him to focus on the urgent task of repositioning our country.

As the National Vice Chairman, South East Zone, APC, what’s your agenda for the National Assembly?

That’s outside my mandate as a party leader.

What are your views on President Tinubu’s raging certificate saga?

It lacks substance and remains a figment of the imagination of the misguided promoters.

It would appear the party, APC, is comfortable with corrupt people. Alhaji Ganduje is now the national chairman of the party, and over 90 percent of those on the ministerial list have corruption cases. What are your views on that?

I’m afraid these are wild and unsubstantiated rumours not worthy of my time. It’s unfortunate that segments of the public still fall victim to opposition propaganda and wallow in sentiments and hearsay.

Do you think the various Tribunals, and even the Supreme Court, can discharge their functions creditably with regards to the election cases?

Sure! Very sure! I believe in the integrity and credibility of the Judiciary of our dear country.

What are the priority areas that the Tinubu Administration should concentrate on?

Though every sector is important, the priority areas are quite obvious – the Economy, Security and Infrastructure, especially Electricity.

Do you think President Tinubu and the APC have been fair to the South East in terms of appointments in this administration?

Yes, they have been fair to the South East Zone. We have five states in our zone, and we got our fair share of one member per state.

What are your views on the continued detention of the leader of the IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and the insecurity in the South East?

I’d rather not comment on this, being sub judice. It is a legal issue.

• What’s your reaction on the fuel subsidy removal?

Nigeria desperately needs the fuel subsidy removal.

What future do you see for the APC in the South East?

Massive growth! I see us taking over more states of the zone.
