Top opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar and Seyi Makinde, held a closed-door meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, signalling fresh moves to realign political forces ahead of the 2027 elections.
The meeting, hosted at the residence of David Mark, drew key players from both the factional African Democratic Congress and the divided Peoples Democratic Party.
Among those present were Tanimu Turaki, Rotimi Amaechi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Aminu Tambuwal, Peter Obi and Abubakar Malami, alongside other senior party figures.

Although details of the meeting were not officially disclosed, sources within both camps said discussions centred on forming a united opposition front to challenge Bola Tinubu in 2027.
The talks are also believed to include efforts to resolve internal leadership disputes within both parties, which have seen multiple factions emerge and ongoing legal battles over control.
The development points to a broader political recalibration, as opposition leaders weigh coalition strategies while navigating internal crises that continue to threaten party cohesion and electoral readiness.
