The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would have failed if it allowed any opposition candidate in the state to secure more than 25 percent votes in the 2027 general election.
Sani made the assertion during a TVC interview on Sunday, a day after President Bola Tinubu flagged off APC’s national campaign in the state.
He said, “In Kaduna state, allowing any candidate to even get 25 percent of the votes is a failure on our side.”
Sani expressed confidence that Tinubu will secure massive votes in the state, hinging his confidence on projects and interventions by the federal government in Kaduna over the past three and a half years.
According to him, Kaduna residents will gladly reciprocate the support by voting en masse for the president.
Sani added that Kaduna residents would surpass the 70 percent northern votes promised to the president by National Chairman of APC, Nentawe Yilwatda.
He said it was to the president’s credit that the Federal Government handed over the Ahmadu Bello Stadium to the Kaduna State Government.
The governor said his administration has commenced the process of rebuilding it into a 33,000-capacity stadium that meets FIFA standards.
He further named the reconstruction of the 123-kilometre Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road as another major milestone of the Tinubu administration in Kaduna.
The governor disclosed that at least N178 billion has been disbursed for the project, which he said had been abandoned for more than 40 years.
