Founder and General Overseer Omega Power Ministries (OPM) HRM King Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere has on Wednesday 22nd July 2026 led the management of Utopia, an Egyptian pharmaceutical firm proposing to establish a drug manufacturing plant in Abia State to Abia State Government house.
He said he is pleased with the performance of the executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr Alex Otti in championing development in every sectors.
He said that the pharmaceutical industry when completed will generate employment and contribute to the development of the state.
Abia Governor, Dr Alex Otti, OFR after watching the presentation From the Chairman of Utopia, Dr. Kamel Mohamed, pledges his support for the Egyptian firm to establish pharmaceutical company in the state.
The Governor expressed excitement over the proposal, noting that the investment would drive economic activity and create jobs because the firm is coming to set up production plant, not just to sell products.
“We are very happy with your presentation. And I’m very pleased that you are looking at setting up production plant. Not just sales, because you could as well produce anywhere, sell, make profit and all that.
“But for us as a government, it is important to generate economic activities. And you generate economic activity by production. Because when you set up a production plant, you create jobs.
“Then, you improve the GDP of the State, you reduce poverty. And then you transfer technology, like you said. Even though there is still an argument in the literature whether technology is transferable or not.
“So, you can take it for granted that this government will support you, to set up the manufacturing plant, and from there, you can export to other parts of Nigeria and West Africa,” Gov. Otti stated.
Governor Otti urged the investors to consider the Ukwa axis of the State for the manufacturing plant. He assured that land would not be a challenge as government is ready to provide it.

Gov. Otti noted that the Ukwa axis enjoys the availability of gas and steady power supply from Geometric Power. He also said that issues of community relations would be handled by HRM King Apostle Gift Chibuzor Chinyere.
The Governor directed the Commissioner for Health, Professor Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche, to continue discussions with the team and ensure that every necessary support is provided to facilitate the project.
Speaking further, King Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere said that he brought the pharmaceutical company to Abia State because Dr. Otti is a health-friendly Governor. He disclosed that the team would also do a pilot presentation of its anti-malaria products in Abia State before departing.
In his presentation, the Chairman of Utopia, Dr. Kamel Mohamed, said the team came for collaboration with the Abia State Government in establishing a pharmaceutical production plant.
Dr. Mohamed noted that there is an existing Memorandum of Understanding between Egypt, where the firm is located, and NAFDAC, on drug registration. He assured that the firm is coming to add value.
He stated that the company intends to make Nigeria a hub of advanced pharmaceutical technology, adding that Utopia has executed similar projects in Tanzania and other countries, and expressed hope that the collaboration would succeed under Governor Otti.
In his vote of thanks Dr Emeka Unachukwu thanked the Governor of Abia State for his support for the proposal despite the short notice.
The Commissioner for Health, Professor Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche; Chief Executive Officer of the Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Odochi Azubuike; the Chief Medical Director of the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo among other government officials were present at the meeting.
