Operation Kosaye: Ogun conducts joint security assessment

The Ogun State Government has conducted a joint security assessment to reinforce security along the Ogun–Ondo border corridor.

The assessment also covered the Ogun Waterside axis, including Iwopin, Abigi and Ibiade, to consolidate the gains of Operation Kosaye and sustain ongoing efforts to combat crime and criminality.

The Ogun State Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies and key government stakeholders, carried out a high-level joint operational assessment and show of force across strategic communities from Itele-Ijebu to the Ondo State border.

In a statement, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the joint assessment tour involved the Security Consultant to the Ogun State Governor, retired Commissioner of Police Edward Ajogun; the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni; the Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Brig.-Gen. J.O. Onu; the Director, Department of State Services (DSS), Ogun State Command, R.A. Adelakun; the Ogun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo; the Commander of the Ogun State Security Network (Amotekun Corps), Brig.-Gen. Alade Adedigba (retd.); the State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo; and the executive chairmen of Ijebu East, Ijebu North East and Ogun Waterside local government areas.

“The assessment exercise covered the Ijebu Ode-Ore Expressway corridor, stretching from Ijebu Ode through J2, J3, J4, Itele, Atoyo, Agerige, Ogbere, Ibiade, Iwopin and Abigi in Ogun Waterside, terminating at Ajebandele, the boundary community between Ogun and Ondo states, where a comprehensive assessment of the security environment was conducted.

“During the exercise, the joint security team assessed critical locations and vulnerable areas along the cor
