The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi (OJAJA II), is set to visit the United
States of America (USA) and the United Kingdom (UK) to participate in a series of activities anchored by the organisers of Hollywood African Prestigious Awards (HAPA) and Sillicon Valley-Ned in conjunction with the African Technology Foundation.
This was disclosed in a release, on Wednesday, by Comrade Moses Olafare, the Director, Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace.
The release said that, on Monday, November 13, the monarch will pay a courtesy visit to the CA Legislative Team at the State Senate Office, Sacramento.
He is also expected at the Stanford University, Pablo Alto CA for Oil & Gas Initiatives where he will meet some key representatives of IVY League Institution such as Stanford University to discuss
opportunities for exchange international progrmmes.
Also, the monarch will be
hosted by Silicon Valley – Nigerian
Economic Development (SV-NED Inc.) and African Technology Foundation to discuss issues on
the bridge between Nigeria and the Technology capital of the world, Silicon Valley.
He will also visit Cisco IBM Intel and Tesla Motors for business discussions and engage in a tour of the
giant automobile manufacturing Plant located at Fremont CA.
The front line traditional ruler will also be at TBD in San Jose CA to hold talks with Intel,
Microsoft, Cisco and some Information Technology Healthcare Investors before departing to Los-Angeles CA for the Hollywood Awards and other activities such as HAPA Business Roundtable with Royalty, Education Seminar and
Workshop for students with the State of California which will hold on Wednesday, November 15.
Olafare said this would be followed by a dinner with The Kings and Music Awards Night slated for Thursday, while the Yoruba Indigenous Day with the African Community would take place on Friday.
He also disclosed that on Saturday, November, 18, the Ooni would be honoured with the
Hollywood an African Prestigious Leadership Award alongside King Mswati III of
Swaziland and King (Dr) Noble Odaifio Welentsi III from Ghana during the
Hollywood African Awards Show holding at the Alex Theater in Glendale, California
where he will be the Guest Speaker to speak on “The Eradication of Negative Images associated with Africa and Forgotten History.”
Ooni, who is the co-chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria, will also play host to the crew of the ‘Coming to America’ film to be led by the world famous actor, Eddie Murphy.
The release also disclosed that the Ooni would leave for the United Kingdom on November 20 to attend the 7th Phoenix Newspaper Gala Dinner and Awards Presentation at the
ICC, Birmingham, United Kingdom on 25th.
“As the spiritual leader and custodian of Yoruba race, he will be traveling with his full entourage and he is looking forward to visiting Birmingham City University and holding meetings with the Lord Mayor of
Birmingham and the Mayor of West Midlands.
He will also meet the Birmingham City Council International Team to forge a long – lasting partnership
between the Kingdom of Ile – Ife and Birmingham City across Business, Investments, Education and Cultural Exchange.
The monarch will return to Nigeria from United Kingdom on November 29.
